Abdullah Shawabkeh – Chairman, Board of Directors
Abdallah Shawabkeh graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan University for Science and Technology in 1992 and began his career as Technical Manager with United Iron and Steel Company in Jordan. In 2005, Mr. Shawabkeh established and still directs Axiom Engineering Services; a company dedicated to providing solutions for the metal and mining industries. In 2008, he also established and still runs the operations of Taybah Metal Industries; part of Taybah Steel Group of companies and provider of quality steel products. In 2012 Mr. Shawabkeh was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shale Energy Company. With a patent pending for a process in the iron extraction field, Mr. Shawabkeh’s fart is innovation in engineering, entrepreneurship, and strong business management. Mr. Shawabkeh has extensive experience in the design, fabrication, installation and development of industrial plants, equipment and systems, including mechanical, hydraulic and environmental. He has successfully developed a business for the innovation, design and fabrication of industrial equipment serving the metals and extraction industries. Mr. Shawabkeh currently runs several companies, and is actively establishing new industrial companies in Jordan and the Gulf as a partner and director.
Saba Salti – Vice Chairman, Board of Directors
Saba Salti graduated with Master Degrees with First Class Honours in Materials Science and Engineering from the Imperial College in the United Kingdom and began his career in 1998 with United Iron and Steel Company in Jordan. In 2005, Mr. Salti established and still heads Axiom Engineering Services; a company dedicated to providing solutions for the metal and mining industries. In 2005, he also led establishing and running the operations of ProGas; Jordan’s first provider of bulk-distribution liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and comprehensive centralized gas solutions where he still serves as General Manager. In 2012 Mr. Salti was elected as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shale Energy Company. Mr. Salti’s areas of strength include engineering characterised by technical depth as well as management.

Dr. Majdi Barjous – Chief Geologist ,Acting General Manager
Dr. Majdi Barjous, a published and renowned Geologist in Jordan, received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Jordan in 1981 and 1987 respectively and in 1995 obtained his PhD. in Mineral Engineering from the Cardiff School of Engineering/College of Cardiff, University of Wales. He began his professional career as a senior exploration engineer for the Natural Resources Authority (NRA) between 1983 and 2008. During his tenure at the NRA, he was involved in the 1:50 000 National Geological Mapping project, and published several geological maps at different scales. In addition, he researched several areas that included archaeo-geology, remote sensing, mineral exploration, ore engineering and processing, paleoseismology, active tectonics, and environmental hazards mapping. Between 1996 and 1999, Dr. Barjous worked as an exploration manager for Stangold Mining Company in Tanzania and then in 2001, Dr. Barjous was awarded a Fulbright postdoctoral research,at San Diego State University. He returned to Jordan in 2004 where he took over as Regional Exploration Manager for the Jordan Carbonate Company. Since 1995 and throughout his career, Dr. Barjous provided consultancy for a number of industrial companies, research houses, and oil and gas companies. In addition, he prepared several feasibility studies for different ores and projects, co-supervised one MSc. thesis, and was a member of several examination committees for MSc. and PhDs. Dr. Barjous joined Shale Energy Company in 2012.
